HOPE

Using AI and data science for personalized addiction treatment

Why HOPE?

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in Germany seek help for addiction problems: alcohol, drugs, or digital media. But many do not receive the support they need in time:

Long waiting lists, overburdened counseling centers, and a lack of tailored services mean that treatment often starts too late or is discontinued.

Our approach

HOPE uses data and AI to make addiction treatment more personalized and effective.
The system helps professionals,

  • analyze individual patient data,

  • propose suitable treatment plans, and

  • refer those seeking help to appropriate facilities.

Our goal

With HOPE we can

  • to facilitate access to the right help,

  • Reduce therapy dropouts

  • and relieve the burden on specialist staff.

This leaves more time for genuine support. In this way, addiction treatment becomes not only more efficient, but also more humane.

Project phases: January 2024 to the beginning of 2026

Phase 1

Phase 2

Phase 3

Phase 4

Research and proof-of-concept:

This phase is dedicated to exploring how different data input sources can be used to predict soil quality using MI. It serves as a proof of concept for the planned soil quality assessment system and provides the scientific basis for the entire project.

Entwicklung des Systems:
Diese Phase konzentriert sich auf die Entwicklung eines funktionierenden Prototyps des Bodenqualitätsbewertungssystems.
Field study:
Based on the results of phase 2, a field study will be conducted to measure the actual impact of the MI-based soil quality assessment system on crop yields for farmers in developing countries.

Transfer to the public domain:

If Phase 3 yields positive and effective results, MI4People will make the relevant software code, MI models/tools, and any other intellectual property created during the project publicly available and create a community of enthusiasts who will maintain and further develop the system as an open-source project.
